Mario Bellini “Colonnato” dining table for Cassina, Rosso Francia, Italy, 1977.
Bellini designed the “Colonnato” table series inspired by elementary and essential architectural structures. The table is a sought-after piece due to its monumental presence within a space. It recalls the Classic colonnades, where a series of columns support a portico, here turned into a support surface - such as the Carlo Scarpa “Argo” and “Samo” tables. Minimal in design, with three-column legs, it is built entirely from solid Rosso Francia marble.
